Together with Scandlines we have developed an Umbraco solution where the best-of-breed approach is used to create a solution that accommodates Scandlines’ business needs for working with marketing, campaigns and reuse modules across sites.
The solution integrates Scandlines APIs and supports a user journey that makes it as easy as possible to order ferry tickets and find information about departure and services onboard. With a new design the new Umbraco solution unites Scandlines visual identity across the companies’ channels. This website is the first launch of Scandlines’ new CVI which also will be implemented on ferries and Scandlines’ overall communication.
All data regarding prices, tickets and ticket types is presented in Umbraco together with an abundance of modules and marketing features. In combination it provides a strong user experience that centralizes the customer when s/he is buying tickets and uses the SMILE-membership.
The new platform enables Scandlines to work with content, marketing, personalisation and product recommendations based on data. Moreover, Scandlines are now able to create and publish new websites and campaign pages based on insights without it requiring a long course of development. The result is a joint community with the possibility to reuse modules and functions across sites and where the new design brings out Scandlines as one brand with a strong visual identity.
“Previously in Scandlines’ digital universe the customers were met with a range of diverse subsites. All of these are now united in one platform to create a coherent user experience. Our new digital platform also enables us to react fast on new tendencies and opportunities in the market, as we fast and efficiently can create and maintain campaigns and additional content on our website without involving developers,” says Rune Andresen, E-commerce Manager, Scandlines.
